II. Mechanism of Action (Research Level)
Cardiogen belongs to the Khavinson tissue-specific bioregulatory peptides, and its core function is mediated through the regulation of nuclear gene expression:
Cardiomyocyte protection and anti-apoptosis: Inhibits p53 protein expression in cardiomyocytes, reducing cardiomyocyte apoptosis; promotes cardiomyocyte proliferation, and improves the cell viability of aging/damaged myocardium.
**Fibroblast Regulation and Anti-fibrosis:** Targets and regulates fibroblast activity, reducing pathological collagen deposition and myocardial fibrosis, and improving myocardial remodeling.
**Dual Cell Selectivity:** Protects healthy cardiomyocytes and inhibits their apoptosis; simultaneously induces tumor cell apoptosis, exhibiting unique cellular environment selectivity.
**Gene Expression Regulation:** Penetrates the cardiomyocyte nucleus, binds to DNA promoter regions, regulates the transcription of myocardial function-related genes, and restores myocardial metabolism and contractile function.
**III. Core Research Efficacy:**
* **Myocardial Injury Repair:** Applicable to in vitro model studies of myocardial ischemia, post-myocardial infarction repair, cardiomyocyte aging, and myocardial fibrosis.
* **Cardiovascular Function Regulation:** Improves myocardial metabolism, enhances myocardial contractility, and alleviates age-related cardiovascular function decline.
* **Anti-fibrosis Research:** Inhibits pathological fibrosis in myocardium, blood vessels, and other tissues, used to explore the repair mechanisms of chronic cardiovascular injury.
* **Tumor and Cell Selectivity Research:** Explores the differential regulatory mechanisms of healthy cells/tumor cells, used in research at the intersection of tumor and tissue repair.
* **Joint Research Applications:** Can be used in conjunction with Vesugen (vascular peptide), BPC-157, and GHK-Cu to conduct synergistic experiments on cardiovascular-tissue repair.
